Take a look at the posters of, Titanic, Pride & Prejudice, Twilight, Last Chance Harvey (at least they’re happy), Dear John, Brokeback Mountain, The Lake House, City of Angels, Atonement and you’ll see what I mean.

I mean, the characters have the same (dull/sadness) emotion on their faces. Also, one person is having their head on the other side, while the other one is looking somewhere else.

Is there a reason?

You may ask yourself if having is what you actually want for their head

someone once did a poster like that adn the movie made big bucks so everyone else try to copy it hoping that it will give them the same success
