You need some kind of light, body styler, like mousse. The spray mousse is great! If you have some wave in your hair, you can scrunch-dry it. If not, you can use a large curling iron, 1 1/2" barrel is fine, and curl into loose ringlets. Just finger-style it because if you mess with it too much it will get too poofy. Take a small section from the front and pin it in the back along the top, but make sure it is just from the top area and not too much from the sides.
