An interesting question came up a few minutes ago, and people generally agreed that the UK is far less religious than the UK. It seems that Religion is very prominent, in the US with Televangelists, "in god we trust." on money. Posters stuck up everywhere, debate as to weather ID should be taught alongside evolution. Whilst in the UK I have never seen any of this sort of thing. In the UK there are people who are religious (far fewer in statistical terms) are not so loud and proud about it, compared to what I have experienced in the US.

what do you think makes us (two culturally similar nations really) think so differently about religion?
"n interesting question came up a few minutes ago, and people generally agreed that the UK is far less religious than the UK. " Sorry Typo, I meant to say that the UK is far less religious than the US
To Nicole, people are allowed handguns, (little known though) but the controls for getting one are very very tight and controls about getting a gun in general are much tighter over here, but that is because lessons were learned from the Dunblane Massacre. But it seems to me, lessons have not been learned from columbine, or Virgina tech, and guns are more important to the US population than the safety of their kids. Our economy is also actually very good, go onto google, and type pound to dollar, and tell me what you see?

One of my associates really hurt my feelings. I’m 28 years old and I’m a huge fan of Johnny Depp,Leonardo Dicaprio,Katy Perry,Nicki Minaj,Lawrence Fishburne,Thandie Newton, and Hugh Jackman.
I’m an artist so I paint, draw, color, sculpt, and do arts and crafts. I also collect posters of celebrities. Posters are artwork to me because they capture the celebrities in a new light. And some posters are beautifully decorated.
I recently stated that I’m hanging more posters of my favorite celebrities in my bedroom in my apartment.

This so called friend actually wrote on my Facebook wall "How about doing something more age appropriate." I’m sorry but that was very hurtful and humiliating.

So having posters of my favorite celebrities makes me a geek?
Where is it written that adults can’t hang posters of their favorite celebrities up?
Where is it written that only teens can hang posters of their favorite celebrities?

I know plenty of adults, even adults older than I am who have posters/pics of their favorite celebrities and posters of their favorite movies hanging up. In fact I know this one man who is in his 60s and he has posters of Al Pacino on his wall and posters of Al Pacino’s movies on his wall.I don’t think that this makes him any less adult than me. I know one middle aged woman who has a framed photo of Eartha Kit on her wall. I don’t think that this makes her a geek or makes her any less adult.

So is there something wrong with having posters of your favorite celebrities and movies on your walls?
Is there a rule written down that states that only teens can hang posters of their favorite celebrities and movies?

I am fixing up my husband’s "man cave" and as a surprise, I’m including three framed Star Wars posters (his favorite). I already have the first one and need Return of the Jedi and Empire Strikes Back. I’ve spotted a lot of retro looking posters and I’m not sure if they are actually reprints of how it looked back then or are new posters that are made to look vintage. I don’t want actual vintage posters, just reprints of what they originally looked like. Does anyone know? Thanks!

dam- about anything they have to say about anything?

As a Democrat , I am curious if there are other Democrats like me, that believe that we are simply wasting our time supporting a losing cause.

And, why does everyone make sport of democrats, like we are stupid or something?

And, what is a "Dumbocrat?"
Phoenix: Thanks! "defeatocrat," hahaha.

Christopher Reeve and Michael j. Fox were both two heavily influentional figures in the disabled community. Receiving all kinds of attention and recognition for their ailments and going to become two of the most recognizable " poster childs ". And coincidentally both of which were Blue eyed, thinned out nosed commercial looking caucasion’s.

Then when I look at someone of color like Montell William’s, who has battled a similiar neurological illness as Fox, but gets less than half of the recognition and financial funding for his foundation than fox.

There seems to be a bit of an unfair bias here. Not just generalizing on that one case alone, there are plenty of similiar stories.

What’s up with this?
I was just using Williams as a single example. Also, there’s Muhammad Ali. Who also has Parkinson’s but doesn’t in the media all too often either.
Get* in the media. typo

For overthrowing a democratically elected government of Muhammad Mossdeq (Operation Ajax) to steal its oil for cheap. Should they apologise since this changed the destiny of a nation? How would you feel if China overthrew your democratically government and installed a dictator?

The Islamic Revolution of 1979 was an indirect consequence of this action. Even 25 years later, people still held up the posters of Muhammad Mossadeq.

No wonder Iranians don’t trust "the West".

Someone else answered this about where could it be downloaded, but I would like to buy the picture to put up, and have searched the art and poster websites (UK) to no avail. Underneath it give a line from Psalm 23 "Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death…"

I answered a question from a UK poster who claims that "because Americans aren’t paying their mortgages, we can’t find jobs." Puleeez.

Dont lie we have all had a crush on a celebrity once. How far did you take it? I know some pretty die hard Jo Bros fans so lemme hear your story.

Me personally I had my first "star struck" crush on Hilary Duff. I was about ten and she was 16. I had my whole room re-arranged with posters of her and even started reading J-14(which is the equivalent of moving for a guy lol)

What did you do, more? Less? Lets hear!
