Hiya, I’m a massive Taylor Swift fan. I live in the UK, specifically England. I have been looking for a poster of her for about 6 months. I’ve tried out shops, such as HMV and the G Store, and intense internet searching, including the Taylor Swift official website, but it only has lithographs in the UK, but not posters. Nowhere seems to have any decent posters, but if a website does, they are all in dollars, and only have shipping to America.

Is anyone able to translate from Slovak?

I have a longish article written in Slovak about a girl I used to teach when she used to live in England. I would love to know what it says, but cannot afford a translator – especially not at prices in England! Does anyone speak Slovak who could translate?

Im in love with James Franco so very much and totally obsessed and i have a huge new moon poster in my bedroom but i want to get rid of it and put up a new poster of James Franco, ive searched google for some but theres either not the one i want or its in us dollars and i live in the Uk.

-I live in a small town in england called Peterborough and is there any shops like HMV or high street stores that i can just go into town and buy a James Franco poster?

Do any other posters find the continual use of the term UK annoying?
The term should only be used when the topic spoken of refers to ALL the constituent countries!
If you landed by plane at London Heathrow airport, you landed in ENGLAND didn`t you? You have not landed in the UK have you! (else you would have landed in 4 countries at once!)

In the Second World War, it was BRITAIN that declared war on Germany wasn`t it, the phrase the UK declared war did not exist!

Do other posters think the invention of the World Wide Web (www.) contributes to the over-use of UK, because it is the final address sometimes, as in e.g. xxxxxxxx.co.uk ???

In the US, many classic neckties designs are derived from ties which in Britain represent military regiments, prep schools, colleges, professional organizations, and social clubs. In the US, with the exception of Ivy League ties, this is a relatively unknown phenomenon.

But when an American visits the UK, should they refrain from wearing neckwear which might have such symbolism, lest they be deemed a poseur and a fraud? Will they be viewed with suspicions wearing a tie with such meanings? (I haven’t been to England since I started wearing neckties regularly, so it hasn’t been an issue.)
